United Recyclers Group Steps Forward
as SCRS Corporate Member

Richland, WA, July 30, 2004 — The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) is pleased to announce that United Recyclers Group, LLC (URG) has joined SCRS as a Corporate Member.

URG consists of a group of 250 progressive auto recyclers united in their efforts to foster the growth and professionalism of the recycled parts industry. Founded in 1995, URG provides a variety of products and services to its members. These include cooperative buying, advertising, and Internet programs, as well as a computerized information system for business and inventory management.

URG joining SCRS is a significant occurrence, as it is the first time a group representing the recycled parts industry has signed on as a corporate partner. "From a collision repair standpoint, the partnership makes a lot of sense and we are very excited about it," says SCRS Chairman Lou DiLisio. "We’re the recycler’s customer; if we can improve communication between us — let them know specifically what our needs are — everyone benefits, especially the consumer."

Corporate Membership makes sense to URG, too, because one of their mandates is to enhance the relationships recyclers maintain with their partners, and that includes collision repairers. "Our group wants to build synergies with our body shop customers," explains Sharon Kellum, URG’s Executive Manager. "Being an SCRS Corporate Member will make it easy to enter into ongoing dialogue with the industry and help URG better understand how to effectively assist them. In addition, we’ll get the chance to promote the superior quality parts our members provide and with SCRS’ input work to raise the standards for collision repair even higher."

"SCRS has always tried to be as inclusive as possible when defining the makeup of its membership because united efforts tend to yield much better results," adds DiLisio. "We think that URG’s Corporate Membership helps fill an important gap in our makeup. As a result, the words ‘Working Together Is The Most Important Work We Do’ have never been truer."

Through its direct members and 31 affiliate associations, SCRS is comprised of 5,000 collision repair businesses and 58,500 specialized professionals who work with consumers and insurance companies to repair collision-damaged vehicles.
